For those who are interested in exploring the cultural values of the hidden lands of Myanmar in a unique way, Mount Victoria trekking (hard level) is a great option. In this tour, you have the opportunity to explore the old Chin villages and trek to the Mt. Victoria located in Chin State. You could trek or walk among vegetable farms, enjoy the natural wildlife and observe the daily life of the locals in the mountainous area.
Bagan – Kanpalat by Jeep / 4 WD
Your wonderful trip will start with a transfer to Kanpalat by private jeep or 4WD. Continue taking one hour drive to Chauk where you will have time to explore the local market. Leaving the market, you will be taken to the Seikphyu village situated on the other side of Ayeyarwaddy River. Proceed to Kazunma village – one of the big Burmese villages.
Enjoy lunch before driving among the forest which offers you a great chance to take as many photos as you want. After 3 hour drive, you will make a stop at the small town of Saw for a short tea break. Afterwards, keep driving to Kanpalat – an administrative town of Chin people.
In the evening, check in Pine Wood Villa located among the pine forest where you will spend an overnight.
Kanpalat - Mt.Victoria - Aye Village
In the morning, take a scenic drive to the base camp of Mt. Victoria – the most famous birding site for many endangered species of Myanmar. Upon arrival, from the base camp which is 6500 ft above sea level, you will hike to the top of the mount. It will take you 3 hour trekking to the top. It’s hard but worth. As reaching the top, relax with tea and snacks before trekking back to the jeep.
You will then be taken to Aye Village for 1.5 hour drive. It is a small Chin village nestled on a forest hill and feature cool climate. Take your time to walk around the village and have a closer look at the friendly locals. Dinner and overnight at the village.
Aye village - Kyardo village - LotePe Village - Mindut
Today, you will spend one hour driving before setting off your trekking trip to Kyardo Village. In the first hour trekking, you will trek down to a stream and then another hour is spent trekking to Kyardo Village. Make a sightseeing tour around the village to see the unique costumes of the villagers and their lifestyle.
Enjoy lunch and a short rest followed by a trekking to LotePe Village – an ancient Chin village located on the top of the hill. You will be fascinated with tattoo faced women and their interesting traditions. After some time exploring the village, trek down to Check Chaung Stream where our jeep awaits on the banks of the stream.
Afterwards, drive for an hour up to Mindut where you have a night stay at a guesthouse.
Mindut - Ponetaung Ponenyar - Bagan
In the morning, pay a visit to the morning market of Mindut where you will get a true glimpse of local life in bustling trading activities. Then, make your way back to Bagan. On the way back, make a stop among the pine forest hills for taking photos. You also stop at the top of the
Ponetaung Ponenyar mountain range to explore some remaining stupas and shrines. There is some time for you to relax at t tea shop.
After lunch, you have chance to visit some more visits to villages along the way. Arrival in Bagan in the late afternoon.
